Let’s Make Aloo Besan Nasta
Ingredients Required
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 2 boiled potatoes minced (peeled and grated).
- 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1 teaspoon red chillies finely minced
- 2 finely chopped green chilly
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon carom seeds
- Salt (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Chopped fresh green corriander for decoration.
Step-by-Step Guide to Making Aloo Besan Ka Nasta
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes and Gram Flour Batter
- Grate the Potatoes: To make breakfast, we have two boiled potatoes. We have peeled the potatoes and cleaned them. Now we start making breakfast, so first of all we grate the potatoes, and after that keep it aside.
- Mix the Gram Flour: In the bowl, we will put half a cup of gram flour and after that we will add half teaspoon chopped red chillies, Two finely chopped green chillies, half teaspoon cumin seed, half teaspoon carom seeds, half teaspoon Salt as per taste, add half teaspoon turmeric powder. Mix it well.
- Add Water: Add one cup of water in it and mix it well until you get a thin, smooth batter.
Step 2: Cook the Gram Flour Mixture
- Heat Oil: Now we will add one tablespoon of oil in the pan and heat it. Let the oil get hot.
- Add Gram Flour Batter: After this, we will add gram flour mixer in it. Now we will cook it on high flame while stirring continuously till it becomes dry. Now the gram flour may be looking thin to you, but as the time goes by, the gram flour will absorb the water and become thicker.
We will not stop steering it, because it stick to the pan and get burnt. Now it absorb the gram flour water completely and become dry.
Step 3: Mix with Potatoes
- Combine Ingredients: In this we will put grated potatoes and add some green coriander.
- Cook on Medium Heat: Now we turn the gas to medium and Mix the potatoes and gram flour. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes so that it becomes firm and tight.
Now it has been cooked it well, turn off the gas, and put it in a plate and set it, put the oil in the plate,
Step 4: Set, Cut, and Prepare for Frying
- Set the Mixture: now we will put it gram flour mixture in the plate, and set it, as it cools down, it will gradually become tight.
We are setting it by spreading it in thick layers so that it can be used easy for making breakfast. Keep it for 10 minutes so that they become completely tight. After 10 minutes they cool down and become tight.
- Cut into Pieces: Now we will cut it. First we cut it in a straight line in shape.
Now we cut it into small pieces. If you want, you can cut small or big pieces as per your choice. Now we have cut all the pieces into pieces.
Step 5: Fry to Golden Perfection
- Heat Oil for Frying: Now we will fry them in oil. Check it by putting a little gram flour in the oil.
- Fry the Pieces: Put the pieces in it. No need to turn it immediately, when it becomes tight from one side, then we will turn it.
- Drain Excess Oil: We will fry it from both sides to a nice golden color. We are fry it in high flame. There is no need to stir it continuously. Turn it after some time so that it becomes golden from both the sides.
Now the breakfast golden colors have been fried. Now we will turn off the gas and we will take them out of the oil. You can see that our breakfast is made like this.
Serving Suggestions
It is better to have your Aloo Besan Ka Nasta warm and enjoy with mint chutney or a tomato ketchup. Topped with a layer of a bright orange thick, crusty skin outside with moist soft mushy flesh in the inside, zesty, blistering spicy-savoriness to them.
