Hey there, foodies! Ready to spice up your meal routine? Today, we’re whipping up a delectable mushroom masala sabzi. Tired of the same old veggies? Why not give this a whirl? Mushrooms are in their prime, and they cook up in a flash.
Today, I will prepare a special mushroom masala recipe that takes only 5 minutes to cook. You can serve this dish with chapati or rice, and it is also perfect to take in a lunch box. It’s an excellent dish, so try it at least once. You’ll be amazed at how quickly it comes together. Therefore, let’s get started!
Why Mushrooms?
But before we get to the tasty recipe, let’s also list why mushrooms are such a good option. First of all, mushrooms are low in calories, high in antioxidants, and a great source of protein—all of which make them an excellent addition to any diet.
Moreover, they are versatile and can be cooked in various ways, such as sautéing, grilling, baking, or frying. Their earthy taste and meat-like texture make them an ideal alternative to vegetarian dishes. In addition, they work wonders by soaking up the aroma of your dish’s favourite spices and herbs!
1. Mushroom Masala Sabzi
Starting with Classic Indian Mushroom Masala Sabzi. This is a great, new recipe to switch from the normal sabzis you are bored of and something quicker alternative than besan.
Ingredients:
- 200g mushrooms, sliced and washed
- 2-3 tablespoons of Oil
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- One teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1 tsp dry fenugreek leaves ( Kasuri methi)
- Two tomatoes, chopped
- One green chilli, chopped
- ½ inch ginger, grated
- 10-12 cashews
- Kashmiri lal mirch powder (1.5 teaspoons)
- ¼ cup fresh cream or malai
- Salt to taste
- coriander leaves for garnishing.
Instructions:
- To prepare mushroom masala, take a pack of mushrooms. It is 200 grams
- First, wash them, rub them, and wash them. To wash off the dust now,
- Take the mushrooms out. Do not keep them in water for too long; otherwise, they will absorb the water. Pat dry the mushrooms immediately to clean them more.
- Do not leave them as they are on the plate. Their skin will puff, and they will not stay in the right shape until we have cleaned them properly.
- Now cut them. Cut a piece like this from below, then slice it. Cut the mushrooms into four pieces, or you can slice them like this here,
- We are done. Take a Kadai and heat it
- Add 2-3 tbsp of Oil to it
- Add 1/2 tsp of cumins to the Oil and keep the flame low to avoid burning the spices.
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tsp of coriander powder
- 1 tsp of dry fenugreek leaves
- Add after crushing and discard thick stalks Saute the masala briefly
- Take 2 tomatoes
- 1 green chilli and
- 1/2 inch ginger baton 10-12 cashews
- Prepare their paste and add it to the pan
- Roast masala and paste together roast till Oil separates from the masala.
- Keep the flame low and medium.
- Add 1.5 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder. This will give the sabzi a nice colour but will not make it too spicy. The Oil has started to separate from the masala.
- It is ready. Add 1/4 cup of fresh malai. You can add fresh cream instead or prepare sabzi without it. Mix and roast the masala a little more until the Oil separates again.
- Oil has separated from the masala. It is well-roasted. Add mushroom to the masala.
- Add 3/4 tsp of salt or as per your taste
- Chopped coriander leaves mix and cook for 1-2 minutes
- Add 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Make gravy as light or heavy as you please
- And cook covered for 3-4 minutes over low-medium heat
- We have taken cashews to make gravy dense. You can take poppy seeds, melon seeds or almonds, whichever you like
- Check the sabzi after 4 minutes. Stir the sabzi. Mushrooms get ready quickly. Sabzi is almond-cooked
- Add one sachet of Maggi masala magic to give this sabzi an extraordinary flavour. Maggi has chosen special spices like nutmeg, cloves, fenugreek, fennel seeds, and black pepper to prepare this special masala.
- Mix well. Cook covered for two more minutes. We have cooked it for two more minutes.
- See the nice colour & texture of the sabzi, and a lovely aroma is coming. Take it out in a bowl and add green coriander to garnish. Mushroom Masala Sabzi is ready to serve
